10 Hollywood Dogs That Would Be Great Grief Dogs

There are many dogs in television and film that would make great grief dogs. Here are a few of our picks in no particular order: 

 

1.) Clifford from Clifford the Big Red Dog (2000)

Clifford's large size makes him perfect for hugs! Emily, his owner, even uses him as a chair when she reads books. Besides being a big dog, Clifford is also very loving and friendly with everyone. 

 

2.) Lassie from Lassie Come Home (1943)

Lassie is intelligent, protective, and heroic. She is able to tell when others are in need, and knows how to make them feel safe. She remains courageous when it is difficult for others to be. 

 

3.) Beethoven from Beethoven (1992)

Beethoven is like a fluffy, comforting blanket! He is attentive to his family's needs and is able to figure out how to help them. He is the perfect mixture of calm, patient, and playful.  

 

4.) Chilli from Bluey (2018)

Chilli is a great listener, remains level-headed during difficult situations, and always sees things on the bright side. She is also willing to play games and share her wisdom with others.

Old Yeller is brave and loyal, to the point he's willing to put himself in danger to protect those he loves.  With Old Yeller, he can always be relied on to be there in time of need. Not to mention, he's cute and loveable!

Fly is a great teacher and comforter. She treats others like her own and patiently guides and teaches them. Additionally, she has a desire to do what is right and believes in others that they can overcome their challenges. 

 

7.) Scooby-Doo from Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! (1969)

Scooby-Doo is intelligent, even to the point where he can communicate using his expressions and a few words! He is loyal to his friends and can sympathize with others because he understands what it is like to be scared. 

 

8.) Samantha from I Am Legend (2007)

Samantha supports her owner, Robert, as he experiences loneliness and loss. Whether he is surrounded by zombies or battling his own thoughts, she remains dependable and never leaves his side. 

 

9.) Buddy from Air Bud (1997)

Buddy is playful, talented, and lots of fun! He can play sports, is a quick-learner, and is entertaining to watch. Besides getting along with people of all ages, he is a great team-player.

Snoopy is adventurous, imaginative, and caring. He enjoys going on adventures and writing books. He also has a big heart and gets along with Charlie Brown's friends and other animals.
